Skippy, Please pass along to the entire group of people who worked on this event my ‘THANKS’ for such a great mixer and reunion! You all did a fantastic job putting this shindig together! I know you all put in many hours of blood, sweat, tears and laughter working on this and it was very much appreciated! My husband Rusty and I had a wonderful time and it sure makes getting older much more fun when you have a group such as yourself partying along with us!! What can you say about a guy who wears cake as a party hat??!!! Thanks again!! Debbie (Palmer)Tilton Class of ‘72 Hi Christine, this is Candy Borello from classes '66 & '67...just wanted all of the committee to know how awesome the mixer and the Super Reunion were! Everyone thought so. It's such a loss for those who didn't or couldn't come...they really missed out....this one topped the last Super Reunion (which was wonderful) by every way imagineable. You all did a wonderful, wonderful job and each of you is apperciated so very much for all you did.! Words can't express all of our gratitude and appreciation for all you all did so that we could get together and see all our classmates. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!!! Christine, Thanks again for all your hard work on the reunion. You know, I was still on the fence about going right up until I walked out of my room to go downstairs. I was never in any group or clique, or any neighborhood for that matter. The people I knew (like you) in elementary school, I lost touch with when the new school was built. And different districts for junior and senior high. By the time everyone came together again at Madison, I didn't really know anyone anymore. So I wondered about the usefulness of getting together with people from that long ago. I am so glad I did. I tend to forget that we are all a product of every experience we've had, and everyone who's touched our lives. I did know a few people back then, really good, decent people, and I was very pleased to see them again and catch up on a few details of their lives. The conversation was somewhat different, as most people were talking about their grandchildren. I was surprised at the number of old people there. Also surprised that someone obviously brought a rent-a-date. There was a lot of people saying "What?". Which is why I kept taking people out of the main hall so I could converse with them. That didn't always help-I was talking to Don Phillips and John Cook, who had seen a guy hadn't seen in a dozen years or so. So we went on a Chris-search. After a couple hours of looking around, checking the smoking section outside, I discovered they were talking about 2 different Chrises. Before that was resolved, those 2 near-deaf guys had a third Chris in the mix, so I left. My head was starting to hurt. If I had finished that glass of wine they served, I probably would have really had a headache. That was the nastiest red wine I've ever tasted. Could have bought a bottle of good wine for the price of the glass. The hotel, in general, was good. The room was clean, the bed and bedding were very new, or nearly so. And after the housekeeping crew cleared out, it was actually pretty quiet. Great view overlooking the rear parking lot. But there is virtually no obstruction looking west out of the 9th floor-seemed I could see fifty miles or so. Dale Oder It was a great weekend for Marlins. I enjoyed seeing everyone, yet missed so many. To my table mates and buddies: Donna, Robbie, Diana, Tommy, Karen, Virgie, Glen, Phil Yarborough,etc.....I am still smiling. My sis in law Terry was lookin' good! And many thanks to Terry for the family treasures. My friend Virgie had a ball, you'd remember her most from "Spanish Village" South Post Oak Rd. It was a hang out in those days. Her family owned it. Great Mexican food! Barbara David, you have not changed at all. It was great to see you. Julia Pace, WOW...It's been way too long. I was so happy to see you, and you look marvelous darlin'. OMG...Tanya, who I've been looking for for 34 years...lets catch up! Call me! Lynne Roberts, another ageless one. Lynne seems to only get better with age. Sharelle, Cheryl and the gang, it was great to see ya! May Dando, one day we'll take the time to sit and catch up. It's always good to see you. Bobbie Mize, you are always adorable. Thanks for all of your hard work. And the guys (sorry if I don't know all), Skippy, Bob, Wes, and Bruce you ROCK! UhOh..and lets give Jimmy Ward his cudos! Great job Friday. And to all I failed to mention, please keep in touch and lets do this again soon. May I suggest a Mixer like Friday night, that was so much fun! And to all you wild women who danced the night away with Bubba, #1 How are your toes? haha #2 He's ready for another chance to dance with you all next time! #3 He was "pooped out" on Sunday  Cindy Shaw Cox |
